I am drawn to the north. There is a wisdom within the forest, a sharing of information and strengths between the roots could explain how Cedar trees survive so close to the edge of the cliffs. 36" x 48" acrylic on canvas $4,300

Guardians of the Forest
The path I follow leads through cedars so high that one might fall over to see the upper branches. There is one ancient cedar tree that rooted over the rocks that is so much shorter. She is twisted, gnarled and her branches reach well over the wall into the gorge overlooking the falls. She is beautiful, unique and I call her Sorceress. Just had to paint her as one of the Guardians of the Forest. 84" x 48" triptych acrylic on canvas Contact Artworld Fine Art Gallery artworldfineart.com

Capturing people in their element is an honoured challenge.
A musician capturing the essence of music so intensely that you need to remember to breath when you hear him play. He plays with such passion – that there is no stage, no people, no hungers – just the music. That is art. Maddie Faye is an adventurous, delightful spirit, who anxiously awaits each morning with sunshine and with a feisty energy. Something as frivolous as hair brushing can be an annoyance and unnecessary delay. No words need spoke to understand the undercurrent of challenge displayed by her expression. A sentiment many of us have experienced. She has simply had enough and is not afraid to show it. That strength in character brings a smile in my heart, and I celebrate her. 20" x 40" acrylic on canvas $1,600

Inner Light was painted directly from an inspiring model at the Creativity Art Retreat in Dunedin, beside the rushing, cool waters of the Noisy River. The background reveals the raw, energetic progression of five minute gesture poses. This painting would not be complete without the contrasting illustration of the moth. As a natural creature of the night, she is highly influenced by the power of the moon and is associated with higher awareness and intuition. With faith, determination and focus a moth navigates to the light – perhaps an inner light. 24" x 24" acrylic on canvas $1,000

Softer Side of Stiletto
The playful use of a pastel colour pallet in the Softer Side of Stiletto contradicts the strong, dynamic, defining lines displayed by the stiletto – so deservedly named after the stiletto dagger. The shoe itself is a work of art; where desire overrules practicality. It is a designer fashion statement that accents the entire body, perhaps reflecting an aspiration to reach new heights. Like a string of pearls; the stiletto will continue to stand the test of time. It very simply – a stunning shoe regardless of the colour. 12" x 12" acrylic on canvas $475 framed
